Desserts and Your Diet

by Hratch L Karamanoukian, MD and Pierre Aoukar, MD
Posted: February 23

Summary:
Desserts, pastires, ice cream and baklava that satisfy your "sweet tooth" have a place in your diet but should be consumed only once or twice a week.

Make sure that you work for these indulgences by doing 20 sit-ups, walking half a mile or using the Step-MasterTM before you treat yourself to something that is potentially unhealthy for your cardiovascular health. Remember, obesity and diabetes are significant risk factors for the development of heart disease.
